Star of the Week Calendar 2011-2012
A Parent Opportunity to Share Their Job
A "Social Studies" Connection to the World of Work. Each week we will celebrate our student as our Class Star!
Monday - Student brings back the "Star of the Week" poster.
Tuesday - Student brings in their favorite book to be read a loud by the teacher.
Wednesday - Student may bring special treats for the class.
Thursday - Student may bring a parent(s) to school for lunch, and to share their job(s) with the class afterward. Parents are invited to bring something to share with the class that reminds the class of their work. Some items that have been shared are company water bottles, pins, pens, bags, anything with a company logo, die cut metal designs, rolls of toilet paper, minature foam houses, stuffed animals, and a wide variety of other items. Parents share how reading, writing, math, and computers are used in their work. Students always enjoy asking questions at the end. This is always a special highlight of our week! Thanks for being a part of this special social studies program.
